Psychological Operations Units of the Special Operations Forces
SOF PsyOps units are psychological operations units of the Special Operations Forces of the AFU that analyze the enemy's information space, plan, and conduct psychological operations to weaken the enemy and support the combat operations of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. PsyOps specialists work at the intersection of information, psychology, and modern technology, influencing the moral and psychological state of the enemy, demoralizing and disorganizing enemy units, encouraging the occupiers to surrender, as well as developing and applying modern tools of psychological influence.

What are the SOF PsyOps?
The SOF PsyOps units are psychological operations units of the Special Operations Forces of the AFU that perform tasks related to analyzing the enemy's information space, planning, and conducting psychological operations aimed at undermining the capabilities of the enemy and their allies in an asymmetric manner. Service members of the SOF PsyOps units are specialists in information and psychology who wage the fight for the minds of the enemy's target audience.
The goal
The goal of the SOF PsyOps units is to weaken the enemy and their rear through psychological influence. This is a comprehensive set of measures designed to influence the moral and psychological state of the enemy, their values and motivations, as well as to support the kinetic operations of the SOF and other components of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Influence
Influencing the enemy is a key direction of work for the SOF PsyOps units. Specialists of the PsyOps units encourage the enemy to surrender, and demoralize and disorganize enemy units both in their rear and on the line of contact. PsyOps specialists skillfully utilize modern technological solutions from a wide range of non-kinetic influence on the enemy, as well as develop their own methodologies and tools and adapt existing ones.
